DXtrade for prop: an engine, not a terminal

DXtrade for prop is not a terminal like MetaTrader but a ready-made engine with a web interface that a firm takes whole. We work out what changes for the trader when the rules and the execution live in one system.

What “the whole engine” means

MetaTrader is something a firm plugs into its own infrastructure: the terminal separately, the limit calculation separately. DXtrade is sold differently — as a bundle of platform, risk module and client area from a single developer, Devexperts. For the trader that changes two things.

First: the drawdown counter and the trading interface are one system, so the cushion up to the limit is usually visible right where the trades are, with no mental arithmetic. Second: the feature set is defined by the vendor rather than by the firm — what is not in the platform will not be in the programme, however much you ask support.

The limits are computed by the same system that executes the orders. There is less divergence here between “the terminal showed” and “the firm counted”.
Web and mobile access
No installation: the platform runs in a browser. For a prop account that is a plus — access from any device without moving a profile.
Institutional origins
Devexperts builds systems for brokers, so the instrument set is wider than forex: indices, futures, sometimes equities.

Automation: what to expect and what not to

The main limitation of the environment. Neither MQL nor cBots run here: the platform has its own logic and its own set of external interfaces, and there is no ready-made library of robots at all.

Frequently asked questions

What is DXtrade in prop trading?

A ready-made platform from Devexperts that a prop firm takes together with the risk module and the client area. Unlike MetaTrader it is not only a terminal: the limits are computed by the same system that executes the orders.

Do advisors run on DXtrade?

MetaTrader advisors do not — the code does not carry over. Automation is possible only through the firm's external interface, and whether that is open is the firm's decision.

How does DXtrade differ from Match-Trader?

In origin and coverage: DXtrade grew out of institutional systems and turns up more often where the markets go beyond forex. Match-Trader is closer to forex programmes and comes with a simpler client area.

Is the cushion up to the daily limit visible in DXtrade?

Usually yes, because the counter and the trading live in one system. But it shows the base the firm has set — you still need to check it against the rules.

Can you trade from a phone?

Yes, the platform runs in a browser and in a mobile app, with no installation. The profile does not move between devices — it lives on the firm's side.

Which markets are available on DXtrade?

Technically a wide set, from currencies to futures, but the actual list is set by the firm in the account specification. An instrument being in the platform does not mean it is open to you.

How do I export the trade history?

Through the reports section of the firm's client area. Export after every stage: access to the client area sometimes ends when the account is closed.

Does the spread differ from MetaTrader at the same firm?

It can: the spread is set by the liquidity provider and the account model. A fair comparison uses one instrument at one and the same time.

Is DXtrade suitable for scalping?

That depends not on the platform but on the execution and the rules of the particular programme. Test it on the firm's demo account at the moment of a data release — web platforms sometimes lag on quote updates.

Who does this environment suit best?

Discretionary trading across a wide set of markets, where seeing the limits next to the trades matters. It suits owners of finished MQL algorithms least of all.
